When we wrote to you earlier we said that we would continue to monitor the progress of the pandemic and the regulations associated with it. At that time we cancelled the first Talk and the Plant Sale leaving the rest of the programme open…
Following the most recent Government announcements it will not come as a surprise that the planned Outing in June is also now cancelled. Coach outings are not feasible in today’s circumstances and in any case Arundel Gardens are closed for the foreseeable future.
Furthermore we have reluctantly taken the decision to cancel the Annual Show in July. This event takes a great deal of planning and preparation, which will not only be very difficult to finalise in these uncertain times but also stand a very real chance that they will be in vain in any case; should such events remain unsafe to hold. All village halls are also currently closed.
We will however leave open the rest of our programme, starting with the next Talk on 8th September in the hope that the situation will ease enough by then to go ahead.
Finally, we are happy to announce that your current year subscription will cover you for the 2021 programme as well. It’s the least we can do to reward you all for your ongoing support and patience in these troubling times. Let’s hope that we can resume safely at some time soon.
