Gardeners’ Question Time
Wednesday 23rd February… 7.30 pm Woodgreen Village Hall
1947 was clearly a very important year. Apart from the baby-boom the very first edition of GQT was transmitted by the BBC.
Called “How does your Garden Grow?”, and inspired by the “Dig for Victory” wartime campaign both Bill Sowerbutts and Fred Loads were among the presenters. Professor Alan Gemmell joined them shortly after, and the rest is broadcasting history. When our very own Society was host to BBC’s GQT in 1975, these three illustrious gardeners were there to answer the questions of the members of the day.
Whether you are still a fan or not, why not come along and ask your very own questions of our expert panel.
No doubt you will all have lots of queries and problems to solve, as we start the gardening year. There was no shortage of tricky questions last year, nor useful and practical answers.
There’ll be wine and cheese, paid for by the Society – no need for contributions from members.
It promises to be another very enjoyable event… see you there?
